beautiful maggie--i love the pace as if the thoughts are coming as the berries are being slowly being chewed...i see the deep red...and i love the last line "as berries died bright in your mouth"..perfect.

i want to read it over and over and over...

One of the things I love about this poem is the succesful intermingling of the present moments with the vivid memories. I like the repetitions of sound and rhythm, intertwining, building... There are three people in this poem, the narrator, the person she observes, and the grandmother. I hope you've found an agent and a publisher.
