Here's another wonderful post on Kate McRae. My thoughts will be with Kate, her family and her sugical team. http://brianwurzell.wordpress.com/2009/07/04/audrey-assad-little-light-song-for-kate-mcrae/
Thanks for adding the "even if you don't pray" line as I am one of those. But I will certainly send all my support and good wishes to that beautiful girl and her family.
Hearing things like this break my heart and then makes me pissed when I hear others complain about not having enough clothes, or thin hair, or other tiny miniscule things.
I will pray for Kate and her beautiful family. Thank you for asking. (and I'm horrified that I've heard of four brain tumors in children in the last couple of months).
Dear Maggie, Yes of course I'll pray for Kate. So kind and wonderful of you to shine light on others, to make another person's hope and suffering real across our invisible borders - I suppose that is the best of the blog world? Love, Shai
Wow. Sometimes I can't even stand to get on the Internet because you just never know when the next heartbreaking story will catch you off guard. There seems to be no shortage. I added my prayers for Kate.
I know its kind of wrong to think this way but I always wonder why little kids have to go through something like these.. its unfair. But who am I to question the way things work, right?
This is tragic. I've read a lot of stories like this and it's great that they are out there. I do wish there also be as much sympathy for families with sick children that do not look like the all-anglo-american dream. Still, it's a media angle and not a criticism of your beautiful blog/
i agree and would have put her up, had i found her story, if she were of any color or face or flavor. she is a little girl who is terribly sick. that's all we need to know-
Thank you for posting this and bringing it to our attention. If you are able, and hear more, keep us updated. They are a lovely family, and for ANYONE, especially ANY child, to go through this, it is just heart wrenching. Praying...
Just wanted to add, you can find her on http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/mcraekate, where you can leave direct comments to her family as well. If anyone is interested, that is. : )
Thanks for posting this, I thought I left a comment the other day but I guess I forgot too. This is truly a sad story and my prayers are with the entire family and their friends.
