So, I declared this "Pioneer Week" and have been heating water on the stove to wash faces, dishes, etc. We take showers at Grandma's, too, or our neighbors, who live two doors down. My two teenage daughters aren't handling it so well, but how could they? But I know the feeling, sometimes, EVERYTHING is broken, or past due, or lost or messy. Sigh. And yet, we persevere somehow. My motto is always "it could be worse". That works sometimes, not always though! You have a beautiful family. I started to comment on your post about your son last week because I went through the same thing with my son. My son is now 24 and doing really well, sober for two years. I agree with you. There has to be a better solution. You will not believe this coincidence. ...Hi Maggie,
You will not believe this coincidence. Our hot water heater has one of two elements burned out, so we can't shower at the same time, and I can't get through a whole shower and wash my hair without running out of hot water. My husband can't decide whether to repair or replace it. Our dryer thermostat broke last Friday, and just got repaired yesterday- almost $200. Our tree is out of the house, but not taken to the "wood chipper" yet at the local park. I empathize, and I hope it all works out for you soon.Anniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12588164536314320479noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-972647577919000054.post-59898392195248861702011-01-19T13:06:47.410-08:002011-01-19T13:06:47.410-08:00Oh, no! I'm sorry for your minor disasters. ...Oh, no! I'm sorry for your minor disasters. I think I'd buy a used dryer rather than repair one for $400! Yikes!! My sister laughed at me when I paid $200 for a used washer & dryer (pair). That was over ten years ago and they've yet to break (knock on wood). We went through so many vacuums, we ripped out all our carpet and put down faux wood floors. They make shit so cheaply nowadays that it falls apart in no time...there oughta be a law!!!

Your children are healthy and beautiful and that's something to glow about.
