Ian is 13 and rides with a smarty-grin. Ian does most everything with a smarty-grin. Dakota is 15 and ponders his greatness. ' Meister-burger Buuurger-Meister, ' he said all weekend. Mr. Curry resumes his place in the dune buggy... he took me for a long ride in the dunes right before sunset. and it was gorgeous. Lola runs after cousin Jonathan Everyone is hanging out at the campsite, in a circle. At night we circle the fire and make Smores and drink and laugh late into the darkness. Lola wakes up rarin to go Mr. Curry decides I don't have enough embarrassment in my life. And we leave, dirty and happy.
Heh! I always love the men I'm with even more when they disregard my fashion anxiety and accompany me to the grocery store in socks and flip-flops. Or a kilt.
I mean- come one. What better reminder to not take life so seriously?

"Her looks fading, the vain Lispector became increasingly reclusive and demanding. Addicted to cigarettes and sleeping pills, she exhibited erratic and sometimes imperious behavior. She would call friends in the middle of the night and flee dinner parties for little apparent reason. She had a reputation for being a liar."-<em>NYT on Clarice Lispector
My dear child, who can tell? One can only tell that, by remembering something which happened where we lived before; and as we remember nothing, we know nothing about it; and no book, and no man, can ever tell us certainly.
Some couples don’t ask much of one another after they’ve worked out the fundamentals of jobs and children. Some live separate intellectual and cultural lives, and survive, but the most intense, most fulfilling marriages need, I think, to struggle toward some kind of ideological convergence. Norman Rush
Looks pretty OK to me.
Looks like so much fun -- thanks for posting.
And, yes, I'm embarrassed for you -- the socks with the flip-flops is just a big no-no.
And this is what they will remember.
looks like you had a fantastic weekend!
wow, how do you get your hands on a dune buggy exactly? fascinating... and so fun!
It must be the grandest memory of all, to be gathered in a circle in the intimacy of smores.

Beyond cool. Seriously, you and Mr. Curry are rock star parents!
Dirty and happy... One of the best combinations there is.
Great photographs, especially the socks with flip-flops! (I loved your caption!)

Ohmygosh - my word verification is "belushi"!

So awesome! I'm jealous of your weekend, girl!
Sounds like a blast! When shall we all do it together?
Looks like fun. Although, in that last picture, Lola's eyes look like they are shooting daggers! The "DO NOT take MY picture!" look~ cute.
I also like the one of Dakota pondering his greatness, and Mr. Curry showing off his fashion sense.
Good times!
