Clean-er Living: Organic Products, Paraben Free

P
er the C word blog post a few posts back, here are some organic products we use all the time round here. I love Avalon's Peppermint shampoo, Tom's deodorant is smooth and smells nice, the toothpaste is just great and the cleaners all work like charms. I used normal laundry detergent last month because it had been given to me, and everyone in my family complained that 1. it smelled weird and overpowering and 2. it made Ed's skin itch and Dakota have excema

Oh I work for an online site that sells these products very inexpensive. If the prices are better check it out!

www.omnisupplements.com

That's a real site, I work customer service for it. This isn't spam. hehe.

I've been using that Seventh Generation laundry detergent now that it's more competitively priced and available at Target, and it works great! I'm with you on all of this stuff.

Sometimes you can get the Avalon products here in the south at Big Lots. Do you have Big Lots?

I have tried almost all of these and love most of them - Method's glass cleaner is the best stuff ever and smells so pretty...

I did NOT know that Tom's made a sensitive version... That has been my only complaint with natural toothpastes. You can't drink your organic rooibos with senstive teeth... Thanks for the tip!!

We use all these things, too! I remember my father visiting and noting our unusual shampoo, conditioner, and moisturizer. When I do use conventional stuff, I have a bad reaction.

We use arm and hammer for sensitive skin laundry detergent. Rosey has bad exscema and it's the only one that doesn't bother her.

I do LOVE LOVE LOVE the peppermint shampoo though. Max says she could 'eat me up'.

I love the cucumber method all purpose spray! That clean fresh smell is heavenly; my favorite thing to buy at Target. Will have check out some of the others.:)

Thanks for sharing Maggie. I use many of those also. I am interested to try that laundry detergent.

You know I heard something about dark dyes in socks being toxic through the pores of the feet when they sweat... We have created so many land mines in our culture, it sometimes can be exhausting and so expensive to just not ingest toxins. sigh. Baby steps!

Peace,

I use a lot of Method and Seventh Generation (and I love Shacklee's Basic H--lasts forever). One thing I have never been very brave about is deodorant--partly because of the climate I live in right now and partly because I just start to stink, I think. I might give it another try though.

my word verif is "terse"--I love that word.

I just bought a bunch of that Method stuff today! Love it! I also love Avalon Organics. I'm a fan of Ecos laundry detergent - have you tried it? It's pretty good stuff.

We just made a batch of detergent. We'll see how it goes. If it works, it will save us lots of money and it's good for us,too.

Method products kick ass. They are behind the push for legislation that requires cleaning products to list ALL of their ingredients.

i didn't know that. that IS awesome.

Try soap nuts! They are amazing, clean, natural, and super super cheap. I got a five pound bag 9 months ago, and it's still 1/4 full.
