this is the goodbye we do not understand

*Gone to Mrs. Basilworth's Files*

mme
rough draft, for my grandma Elizabeth Gardner, the most beautifully talented painter
and piano player and a woman who lived through one great hardship after another
and never stopped saying ' oh look how beautiful the clouds are today! '

Thank you for looking at my blog, else I would of never found you. Your poem touched my heart. I will now share you with other sensitives.

Love the elegy and juxtapositions. I recently posted a poem on my blog that also deals with loss.

Wish I could get my strength back, after reading about your grandmom. People say creative people have great inner strength.

Lovely ode to your grandmother. I lost my Yia-Yia in 1987. I feel I'll never "get over" such loss, but one can get "past" the loss. Eventually. For now, be with your hurt, because feeling the loss will ultimately save you, dear. It is the pain which will feed the words you will share with us, the words that celebrate your Grandma's beautiful, big life. How fortunate she was--and IS--to have such a grateful granddaughter.
I wish you much Peace, honey.

This is beautiful. I miss my grandma. She also never stopped seeing the beauty in the world.
