Nursing Picture, Miranda Kerr and Myself

Ever and Mommy January 2011

Have you heard the ridiculous 'controversy' over Miranda Kerr's picture of herself nursing her newborn son, Flynn? This blogger laid out my thoughts EXACTLY.
Nurse on, playah.

People are effed up.
How there can even be any controversy over a picture of a nursing mother and baby just boggles my mind.
By the way- this picture is beautiful.

I saw the cutest little onesie at the mall today and thought of you. It said "Boobs" and then under that it said "It's what's for dinner"

Keep on nursing your baby. Today's nursing mom's will pave the way for tomorrows nursing moms.

Awww such a sweet photo. I'm with Ms. Moon, boggled.

It always amazes me how freaked out people get by nursing mothers. I think it's the most beautiful thing on this planet. THE. MOST. BEAUTIFUL.
You and Ever are gorgeous. And I loved that article--thanks for the link. xo

Beautiful, beautiful moment.

(It is not the same, but I didn't even understand the big deal about Janet Jackson's nipplegate).

This type of controversy just makes me roll my eyes back so far they might get stuck that way. Sheesh.

And the picture of you and Ever is adorable!

You and your little one are beautiful. It's a stupid controversy made up by stupid little-minded people. Nurse on!

i saw that miranda kerr photo the other day and had no clue there was controversy around it. oh, people! COME ON.

pretty picture mama. looks like my life.

I haven't heard about it but it blows my mind that it's still the sort of thing that is controversial. It's almost boring, no?

And the picture is breathtaking!

I have tons of photos nursing my babies. I doubt I looked as lovely as either you or the Victoria's Secret Model.

I loved nursing, makes me want to have another just so I can share that with another child! Of my own, of course. Don't be afraid, I want go out and snatch up a random baby and nurse it.

Although it's strangely tempting. ;)

i adore you.

Nursing was an experience that I will never forget- and one that rates at the top of the "joyful shit" list.

People are ridiculous.

This photo is just so beautiful - look at her perfect little fat cheek and her little eyes, locked onto yours. Divine.

Hi Maggie,
Thanks for the link. I just read the article, and I agree with the blogger, too. It's okay for Miranda Kerr to be nude, but not to nurse? Her photo, and your photo, are both beautiful.

I've always thought it kinda strange that you guys across the Pacific call it 'Nursing'. Down Under it has ALWAYS been called Breast Feeding in the public domain. Nursing is a calling or a career you take up, get qualified & then you are a Nurse, not breast feeding. When sex is still the number one word searched for on the internet in the U.S., there seems to be a double standard happening. Time there was a quiet revolution & you tossed out the 'Nursing' term & called it for what it is.

A baby feeding as meant to be - how can that offend anybody - its just so beautiful and the eye contact you have as you breast feed is incredible
