Nathasha Richardson, In Remembrance

The stars, a brief string of shining charms
Rushing in right out of our arms
Into the drifting dark

This life, this life and then the next
With you I have been blessed
What more can you expect

This life, this life and then the next
I finger the hem of your dress
My universe at rest

lyrics, Bruce Springsteen

Natasha Richardson, 1963-2009
Left behind two beautiful young sons and her husband of 14 years, Liam Neeson
Lived a quiet life by any Hollywood standard, and a loving life by anyone's standard.
Possessed an impeccable heritage and epitomized the phrase 'classy broad'
Was much too young to die.
Let's say a prayer for her husband, children, family and friends.

It's so strange that when somebody famous passes away I feel such sadness--I don't even know her, but still, it is just so tragic.

Oh! That's so sad. I hadn't heard the update.

She was such a wonderful actress.

it's just so weighty, so terribly sad. she was young, the mother of young children, and by all accounts a beautiful person, inside and out. and she died so totally suddenly and unexpectedly. no chance for goodbyes or ..... anything.

She will be missed. An incredible actress.

She was so beautiful! This is heartbreaking.

Jason, as himself said...

Talk about a freak accident. It just goes to show...you can be perfectly fine one moment, gone the next.

It was a sad story. Life is short. We should cherish each moment.

Thank you for that remembrance.

I agree. Tragic.

So tragic. She was loveliness itself. My heart hold a burden for her husband and children. I hope they can muddle through their grief and manage to one day come out on the other side.

Or at least just muddle through.

I will pray for them.

I just saw this on the news. You touched upon the correct word - "weighty". There is really nothing else to say.

It's scary how life can turn on a dime. And it seems inappropriate to tack this on here, but....I nominated your for a blog award.

This is a lovely tribute. Thank you. My thoughts go out to her family who must be so struck with grief right now. For someone to die so suddenly, without a chance for goodbye, it is indeed tragic.

This makes me sad. I feel so horrible for the family she left behind.

I love the quote you used. It was perfect. I have been reveling in that CD. Yes, people we will never meet will touch us, change us, and when they pass on, it leaves us diminished.

i was sorry to wake up to this news today. i agree that i feel strangely sad when someone famous passes away, even though i didn't know them. perhaps that is part of the human connection--we can all imagine how we would feel if it were our mother, sister, friend. my impression of her was that she was talented, sophisticated, and compassionate.

Grief and loss are such universal experiences. I think that is why when someone that we don't even know passes we can feel that loss. The loss for their loved ones and the collective loss. What a beautiful tribute.

I have always thought Natasha was so classy and lovely. I had the impression that she and her husband were genuinely good people. There is something so magical about her. My thoughts are with Liam and her boys. What a tragedy.

This is a beautiful photo of her!

So sad, but quite nicely said on your end.

I'd like to sit where she's sitting. It looks peaceful and quiet.

I heard the news this morning. It is incredibly sad. Nell is one of my favorite movies. She and her husband both starred in this movie, apparently met on the set, and then got married. If you've never seen it, it's a beautiful movie, and epitomizes how lovely a couple they were.

The whole thing was just so shocking. She was one of the few actresses where even tabloids had good things to say about her. I can't imagine how her husband and boys must feel. I adored her in the remake of the Parent Trap.

I hate a sudden, stupid death. Beautiful Natasha; her poor, heartbroken family.

Yes, so sad. The children left behind so suddenly by such a stupid random accident. So much lost in an instant. Sobering.
