I'd so appreciate any comments you leave on the actual post, or FB or Twitter shares.
It helps me move upward ! I'm thrilled to have this writing opportunity and work
with HuffPo. I hope you like it!
Love it! I am TRYING to recover my Huffpost's password so I can comment there. This seems impossible but I'm doing my best.
Hey ho, WHOA! Wow, congrats, MMM!!! Proad of YOU, girl! I totally tweeted the frak out of it. Way to go, this has made my day. Congrats!
I liked the article! Great job and congratulations!
Ps.years ago my mother was a single mother with my sister and I. She was (is) a hairdresser. Anyway, we were good girls and never gave our sitters problems, so my mom says! We had just started with a new home sitter. The second week she went to drop us off, we clung to her and cried, begging her not to leave us. My mom said we never ever behaved like not. She left us behind, made it around the block and turned around, not feeling right about leaving. As she turned the corner, in the back yard another child was hitting another with a 2x4 board. She arrived to front door, sitter was spanking a child and had no idea about the situation outside. However, given the displays of abuse and violence, she removed us that moment and never took us back. She has always told this story to anyone who even questions the possibility tha a daycare is not right. She would say to trust your instinct. Do a surprise visit when they least expect you? Just looking out for your Ever!
Janel thank you for that and I totally agree- but Ever is not at a sitter, she's with me all day long at my work :)
Hm. I was told I am "banned from commenting". I don't know exactly why this is, but I'll tell you here- excellent post. :) And the man you're responding to really doesn't seem to be worth the time and effort. The politicians who agree, however...
Kate I've had two other people say they were 'banned from commenting'. Not sure what the problem is, I'm going to contact my editor and see what is going on, thanks for the feedback!
Congrat, Maggie. I know you have it. Keep it going. I'll be with you all the way as an audience, agree or disagree. You are a very gifted writer and insightful person who has felt the pains and joys needed to write about them.
It was such a great article, Maggie and in true MM style with great perspective and passion. You nailed it!
Congratulations!
Oh Maggie, eloquent as always, and right on the nut! This is magnificent in it's truth.
I wanted to leave you a comment on the post website, but I got too weirded out about creating an account and all the info stuff. (sorry!)
I love you and your work,
xo m
MAGGIE! I am so so so so so so excited for you! Your post, of course, was beautiful. I love that I get to bear witness to what is sure to be a meteoric rise to literary fame. I am over here, quietly whispering "yesssssssss" each time your influence spreads just a little further.
Hi Maggie,
Congratulations! I was on vacation last week, so I just saw this. I read your article and followed your link to learn more. Anyone with true virtues and values could not deny that economic stress and lack of opportunity influences the disintegration of marriages; and NOT a lack of core values. Your article is a valuable response.
