if i hacked off the last three stanzas it would be all right. i don't feel like it! ha!
hm.
from the heart, it's all beautiful! :)
It's a beautiful poem...full of heart and truth and love. I wouldn't hack any of it if I were you.
it's hard to put all that love into to words...because it is beyond their capability. It's like when you take a picture of something, it's just never as beautiful as the subject. There's alway this little disappointment.. "Oh you had to see it, it was just magnificent!!!" I enjoyed this, though. It made me feel every bit of 16 and a half...and I've been reminiscing about that time a lot lately. Crazy forties!

Awww. Maggot Pie! I love it.
Oh, I don't know. I like the John Cusack reference!
no, the breast-in-mouth syndrome isn't quite masculine, but I know a man who lights my world aflame with this simple act... I've never felt that way about it in my life, with anyone else <3
I like your "worst" poem :)
I think the entire poem is awesome. In my opinion, there are no bad poems. The world needs all the poetry it can get. Thanks for sharing this. Blessings!
I do like the way you use 'revolution' when what might be expected is 'revelation' :)
(thanks for your comment, btw)
I enjoyed this. Let it sit for a while and then you can decide how best to edit it.
Beautiful poem, but I can understand posting/sharing a poem and not liking it. That happens with me sometimes and I want to disappear or wish back the poem or somehow undo it, like eating too many Baked Cheeto puffs and feeling regret.
But this poem is much gorgeousness. Much.
Hi Maggie,
You use great imagery, and cliches are not cliches when they say everything you mean. This poem is genuine and sincere, and it reminds the reader how transforming a real love can be, and how when it is right, we know it.
I love this truth:
"love is full of these cliches. yet singularly beautiful despite."
I wish this were MY worst poem.
