Her Name

❧ Ever Elizabeth ❧

Proper names are poetry in the raw. Like all poetry they are untranslatable.

I have never, EVER met an Elizabeth I did not love to the bone.
You have chosen well.

Yes, Auden, is right — names are untranslatable. Still and all, Elizabeth to me rings of Isabel in Spanish, the name of my mother and my oldest daughter, so you know that biggie pea's new name says a lot to me.

All the best to 'Ever Elizabeth' and you, Maggie May, and thanks for your visit today. It meant a lot to me.

You mind reading FREAK! I was submitting Hubs to big long baby name talk (on my convocation day he agreed to spend all evening doing whatever I want - I chose spring rolls, chocolate and baby name time)... Elizabeth came up MANY times.

Lovely. I still love Biggie Pea :)

Thank you friends..I did a blog post a long while back about Milla Jovavitch and her daughter Ever, and how that name was on my 'list'. Fast forward, and CJane, who I devotedly read, names her daughter Ever, to my shock! I suppose I had the stupid minded idea that was too 'out there' of a name for a Mormon girl, but Cjane proved me wrong. Now there will be two Ever's in the blogsphere. And the Elizabeth is after my Grandmother Elizabeth, who I loved dearly and was very close to in the last ten years of her life. One of her daughters, my aunt, is Elizabeth, and it is my missing sister Lura's middle name.
So there ya go!

Beautiful. Bigge Pea's still cute too, but Elizabeth is lovely, classic. I'm excited for you. :)

I still call my 14 y.o. daughter "Pea" every day. (short for sweet pea). I rarely call her Morgan and almost always call her Pea. (I try to be careful around her friends to call her by her name.)

Love,
Lola

The name Ever is so beautiful.
It's different but not in a strange just for it's own sake way.
It's enchanting and solid and hopeful and strong.
