Hot Chocolate Stand

Lola made her hot chocolate stand Sunday, and with friends, set up in high spirits and holiday cheer. Smiling is her FAVORITE. Thanks, Buddy.

" the stockings were hung by the chimney with care / in hopes that Saint Nick soon would be there "
She set it up and out and waited with her whole Whoheart.

Friends bought.

The littlest Who in Whoville was obsessed with marshmallows. I am obsessed with KISSING HER FACE RIGHT OFF HER FACE, as Lola and I tell her daily. I love this tiny person SO FREAKING MUCH!!! OK back to scheduled program.

Cuteness overload.

They hollered and shouted HOT CHOCOLATE until Ever yelled back, STOP BARKING!
(We have dogs. Two. Big, Barking, Dogs.)

But despite the grandma and the friends and the mom, very, very little hot chocolate was sold.
In fact, we must sadly report that if the Grinch was depending on making his heart five sizes bigger from holiday cheer, he would have to stay with the shrunken heart. No one smiled! No one said ' sorry, can't buy but good job, kid! ' or ' how cute! ' or  I don't know, Your hair is pretty!! Just say SOMETHING NICE
HOW
HARD
IS
IT.

Well we end our sad story with the mother having gotten her undies in a wad and the hot chocolate selling daughter handling it much better. A little miffed, but happy to go and play with her friends afterward.
So Grinches galore, Whoooos Caresss About Youuuusss:
I'll take my Whooooos.

there's a little black spot on the sun today

tomorrow morning we three, Lola, Ever and Mommy-me- rise early to prepare the hot chocolate booth of red and white and Christmas cheer. Lola has a broken arm. we have an adorable toddler in tow. two points for us. Lola is saving for an Ipod mini and this is a way for her to earn money. we will walk two blocks, not even two, and park our wares at the old and beautiful park next to the running train where all the parents and children gather on saturday and sunday mornings. we have marshmallows and red sugar sprinkles and spoons and red cups and Lola made a sign. oh! i just thought, i wish we had a christmas bell to ring. maybe we could take down the white rooster bell on the porch and use that.
it's after midnight. tomorrow, ian might help, so that would be four. mr. curry will be working, as he did today. long, hard days of work, and i love him for doing it. dakota is eighteen and didn't call to tell me where he was staying and i didn't realize it until a half hour ago, which was about midnight, and i'm tired of calling him in the middle of the night saying 'are you coming home?' he always apologizes for forgetting to call, very sincerely, but he'll forget again. i love him so, so...SO. all right. off to make myself sleep.

that'll do, pig. that'll do.

november sanctuary

Ever Elizabeth 23 months old
25 pounds
a tiny girl full of spunk and heart

Lola Moon 10 years old
85 pounds?
a tall coltish girl full of mischievous joy and the shadows of angst

Lola is writing a book on her Ipad about her recent experiences getting picked on by her group of girlfriends that suddenly fell apart

Ever loves Lola's friends and screams for them by name when they come over
She pounds on Lola's door and says ' Lola! It's your Kinney!'

Lola says ' I think Ever thinks she owns me. Like I'm her possession. Like I'm part of her to boss around.'
She adds: ' I am. '

Ever runs from Lola's admonitions

Always moving.

The three of us.

And one broken arm. Two places. Ouch. Cast on Monday.

Ever has a repatoire of faces.

Toddlers are so freaking cute when they squat.

We read everywhere.

My darling girl, you are growing up.

But slowly.

Coffee Bean yogurt and hot chocolate.

I might want some of that...

Always moving.

Ever drinking the last of Lola's hot chocolate. My shoes? Have holes in them. But I can't let go!

On to Michaels. Always moving.
