How Wonderful Life Is Now That You're In the World

Today, quietly reflecting on how incredibly fulfilling it is to love my children and to be loved by them. I always wanted to be a mother. I always wanted lots of kids. I am incredibly blessed and I know it. Mr. Curry made breakfast- french toast, eggs over easy, sausage AND bacon, we did cards and Lola made a decorated pot! and the house will be cleaned soon. Then my own mom will come over and we'll go on a walk. Meanwhile, I am puttering around here, and happy to read this beautiful post on mother's love by Mary Moon.

What a sweet picture. Also, I love that they all have two names. There's something poetic about it.

Hope you had a great Mother's Day, Maggie!

I loved Ms. Moon's post. It's powerful because it IS complex--I like that thought.

Sounds like the Mother's Day blues. You are doing all you can do.

Even children have to take some responsibility for their own struggles... not that we don't want to make it go away or make it better, but I don't remember anyone helping me with my home work and I have ADHD... is that a good thing? No... BUT I did learn what worked for me concerning studying. And that helped me a lot in years to come. I also buddied up with friends who did get it, and sometimes a kid explanation works much better than an adults because they are at the same stage of development and see things more similarly. (That is something that may help Lola??)

I don't know how to say what I'm saying without it sounding like I'm being unsympathetic (which I so am not!) I promise. I think you have so much going on in your life and feel so guilty that you cannot possibly fit it all into a day that other options just don't get the chance to percolate... Like maybe Dakota and/or Ian would be willing to work with Lola on her math? Making a game out of it or something. Could be a good way for Lola to bond with her bros and to feel special too. I guess I'm saying it shouldn't all have to fall on you Maggie.. although as moms we will always feel like we feel. You are doing great momma Maggie. Hang in there.
